This carpet composition is dedicated to the 100th anniversary of the Azerbaijan State University of Culture and Arts (ADMIU). I designed this carpet composition in the form of a stylized dynamic human body. The head of this “human” is depicted in the form of a palette, and the body part is depicted in the form of a regular rectangular carpet. Here, the two upper corners of the rug are the raised and outstretched hands and the lower two corners are the outstretched feet. In this human form, the 5 faculties of ADMIU are depicted with stylized elements in various sections.<\/p>

The carpet composition is a synthesis of geometric and floral motifs. The figures in both border sections are created in accordance with the principle of “backgroundless arrangement of figurative forms” (law of reversal of motifs). The ground part consists of (lake) and corner sections<\/p>

One of the faculties of ADMIU is the Faculty of Painting. In the human figure carpet I created, I used the figure of a pallet as a symbol of the Faculty of Painting and this pallet also completes the head part of the “human figure”. I depicted the “human head” in the shape of a palette from the profile. The oval shaped handle shows the eyes of the human being and the hollow part inwards shows the mouth. At the same time, vertical lines form the background of the palette, on which there are depictions of brushes and paints. These images together with the oval shaped handle of the palette form the number “100”. This means that I dedicate this rug to the 100th anniversary of ADMIU.<\/p>

The other two faculties of ADMIU were included in the border part of the carpet. The “human figure” body part of the thesis is presented in the traditional Azerbaijani carpet form. The border part consists of two small borders and one main border. In the small borders, I depicted the “film strip” element and used it as the symbol of the Faculty of Cinema and Television (Audiovisual Arts). In the main border, “theater masks” were stylized and placed as the symbol of the Faculty of Theater Arts. It should be noted that in the main border, one of the laughing and crying theater masks is placed upwards and the other downwards.<\/p>

The Faculty of Culturology, one of the faculties of ADMIU, is depicted on the floor of the carpet with the symbol “book”. In the center of the carpet are stylized figures of books. On the right and left sides of the floor, there is a symmetrical depiction of open books, and on the upper and lower parts of the floor, there are two symmetrical depictions of books. Thus, six books are depicted in total.<\/p>

Finally, I used the figures of “tar and kamancha” as the symbol of the Faculty of Musical Arts, one of the 5 faculties of ADMIU. The stylized tar is depicted in the lower left corner of the composition and the kamancha musical instruments are depicted in the lower right corner. In the upper corners, the lower depictions are shown upside down. The ground in the center area is depicted with vertical lines, as in the cecim carpet type.<\/p>
